The Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU) is an institution of the Eastern rite Ukrainian Catholic Church. This church follows Byzantine-Slavic traditions but is in full communion with the Roman Catholic Church.

Pope Francis

visited St. Sophia, the Ukrainian Catholic basilica in Rome, in January 2018.

In 2007 as a material manifestation of his joy and hope on his 80th birthday Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI has donated $130,000 to UCU from the personal gifts he received.

St. Pope John Paul II

blessed the site of UCU’s future new campus during his historic visit to Ukraine in June 2001.
