On August 24th, to celebrate the 32nd Anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence, faculty and staff of the Ukrainian Catholic University traveled to the picturesque village of Slavsk in the Carpathian Mountains. From there, we hiked to a ridge overlooking a lush mountain valley. Archbishop Borys Gudziak, President of UCU led us in a Moleben prayer service for the wellbeing of Ukraine and its defenders. After the service we unfurled our blue and yellow flags and sang the Ukrainian National Anthem in honor of Ukraine’s heroes.
