This year’s Easter Together celebration took place on the UCU campus with more than 500 participants. Refugees from the eastern and southern regions of Ukraine who were forced to flee their homes were treated to Ukrainian Easter tradition workshops and celebrations throughout the weekend.
UCU volunteers collected 315 Easter boxes/baskets for the military. In each box, participants of UCU Easter celebrations decorated pysanky (Ukrainian Easter eggs), made motanka dolls, drew postcards and wrote messages for Ukrainian soldiers on the boxes themselves. Volunteers and children participated in Hailky, a traditional spring dance performed during Easter.
The weekend provided participants unity, care, and family comfort to celebrate the time of Christ’s Resurrection.
