Support That Sustains Through Uncertainty
Unrestricted gifts deliver the greatest and most immediate impact. They sustain the core operations of Ukrainian Catholic University while empowering innovative initiatives and emerging priorities that strengthen the university’s mission.
During wartime, these funds keep generators running, shelters operational, and learning spaces safe and warm so students can continue their education without interruption. They provide the flexible resources UCU needs to respond to uncertainty while remaining a beacon of hope and academic excellence.
Over the past three years, the Foundation has directed more than $15.7 million to support university operations, institutes, and strategic programs, investments that sustain education today and shape Ukraine’s future tomorrow.
Student Scholarships for Ukraine’s Brightest Minds
The Foundation raises critical funds to ensure that the brightest students in Ukraine can access a world-class education, regardless of financial circumstances.
In the 2024–2025 academic year, 52% of undergraduate and graduate students received some level of financial assistance.
This past year, the Foundation funded 217 named scholarships, totaling $850,000 in direct student support.
Over the last five years, more than $3.58 million has been raised and awarded for student scholarships.
By investing in students today, donors are investing in Ukraine’s next generation of compassionate leaders and changemakers.
Endowment for Lasting Strength
The Foundation manages a $22.4 million Endowment in the United States, comprised of over 80 individual endowed funds supporting scholarships, professorships, research, and academic programs.
A strong endowment provides long-term financial security, empowering UCU to withstand challenges while embracing new opportunities for growth and innovation.
Professorships that Ensure Academic Excellence
Outstanding faculty are the heart of a great university. The Foundation raises funds to support professorships that advance academic excellence, research development, and competitive faculty compensation, enabling UCU to attract and retain the most talented scholars in the country.
To honor visionary leadership and enduring academic inspiration, the Metropolitan Gudziak Endowed Faculty Fund, the largest endowed fund in the Foundation’s history, has been established with a goal of reaching $5 million by the end of 2026. This landmark fund ensures that UCU’s faculty will continue to shape generations of students for years to come.
Serving During Wartime
As Ukraine endures the ongoing consequences of war, UCU plays a vital role in national renewal, particularly in serving veterans and their families.
