On July 31, a delegation from the International Monetary Fund, led by the IMF Resident Representative in Ukraine, Priscilla Toffano, visited Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU).
In addition to Ms. Toffano, the university was also visited by IMF economists Vladyslav Filatov, Taras Ivanyshyn, and Ihor Shpak.

From the UCU side, the delegation was welcomed by Senior Vice-Rector Yaroslav Prytula, Vice-Rector for Development and Communications Nataliya Klymovska, Vice-Rector for Administrative and Financial Affairs Lyubomyr Tarnovskyi, and Director of the UCU Business School Yaryna Boychuk. They shared information about the university’s activities, its history, financial model, and discussed business development and the challenges facing Ukrainian education during the war.
“At UCU, students are at the center of everything. We all work to ensure they have proper conditions for studying,” emphasized Nataliya Klymovska.

Priscilla Toffano explained that the purpose of the visit was to learn how institutions are functioning in various cities of Ukraine during the war and how the economy is operating. That is why she came to Lviv. She emphasized that in addition to meetings with local authorities, she was especially eager to visit UCU, as it is one of the best universities in the country.

It is worth noting that she has held the position of IMF Resident Representative in Ukraine for one year, officially beginning her duties on August 1, 2024.
She succeeded Vahram Stepanyan, who returned to the IMF’s central office after three years in the role. Priscilla Toffano has been working at the IMF since 2013.
