On the Feast Day of the University Church of the Holy Wisdom of God, 14 September, UCU President Archbishop Borys Gudziak blessed new markers commemorating benefactors of the church.
The University Church of the Holy Wisdom of God has stood in the heart of the UCU campus for five years now. The university community daily prays here together, priests and laity. Over these years, more than 150 families have made donations to build and decorate the church, by establishing commemorative markers.

This year the community of 155 benefactors grew by seven. So, one of the walls of the church received new commemorative markers: four from donors in Ukraine, two from Canada, and one from the USA. In total they donated $ 60 000.
We note that, thanks to the donations of benefactors, more than a million dollars have been spent on construction work in the church and adorning the cupola with mosaics. Currently a mosaic is being placed around the altar.
The community of the Ukrainian Catholic University expresses sincere thanks to the benefactors for their contribution to building the university’s shrine. “I want to assure you of our prayers, which will continue as long as this church stands,” said Archbishop Borys Gudziak.
