Roman Vaskiv, representing the Ukrainian Catholic Education Foundation (UCEF), took part in the Ukrainian Educational Conference organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in Washington, D.C. and the Ukrainian Educational Council. The event gathered some 40 directors, teachers, and advisors from all over the USA.
Roman Vaskiv presented programs and schools run at Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU). Part of the presentation was about the Yabluko textbook to learn Ukrainian as a second language; this was developed and printed by the School of Ukrainian Language & Culture of UCU, of which Yaskiv was the director. The Ukrainian Educational Council recommended using Yabluko Textbooks as the main source of materials for high school students of Ukrainian Saturday Schools in the USA.
