Ukrainian Catholic University has become an associate partner of KreativEU (Knowledge & Creativity European University), which unites 11 universities from various parts of Europe.

Halyna Protsyk, UCU’s Deputy Vice-Rector for Outreach and Social Engagement (in questions of international cooperation), explained.
She noted that participation in the alliance became possible thanks to the invitation, support, and many years of partnership of UCU with Universität Greifswald in Germany, one of the founders of KreativEU.
The KreativEU alliance unites 11 universities from various corners of Europe, including Polytechnic Institute of Tomar (Portugal), the coordinator of the alliance, and also universities from Italy, Sweden, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovakia, and Turkey. UCU’s Humanities Faculty is the main associate partner from Ukrainian Catholic University and is represented at the assembly by Dean Andrii Yasinovskyi.

KreativEU is developing a unique approach to education, research, and the preservation of cultural heritage, integrating ecological and digital perspectives. Its activities focus on the transformation of the study of culture, identity, memory, and heritage for the social good.
“All partner universities are located in historic cities which foster the preservation and popularization of local and national cultural heritage. Now Lviv will be among these!” So added Halyna Procyk on her Facebook page.
The alliance joins experts from various fields, including cultural studies, ecology, social sciences, humanities, architecture, engineering, and digital technology.
Halyna Protsyk emphasized that, in conditions of war and the Russian aggression, participation in KreativEU is a strategic step for UCU: “This is an opportunity to present our rich cultural heritage in a European arena, to preserve and popularize Ukrainian identity, and also to integrate our educational and research initiatives into a general European context. For us, this is also a platform for developing creative ideas and decisions and so, in coming years, we will build a plan of close exchange and cooperation with other member-universities of the alliance.”
KreativEU is also working to create joint educational programs, research projects, and structures which will be introduced before 2034, ensuring a solid preservation of cultural heritage and increasing the mobility of students and professors.
