Yaroslava Lochman, a graduate of the Master’s Program in Data Science of the Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU), recently interned at the Facebook Reality Labs in Pittsburgh.
She did research there in camera auto-calibration for wide-angle and fisheye lenses.
In an interview for DUO, an online community of Ukrainian programmers Lochman said: “During my master’s studies and research work, I discovered the incredible UCU community. This is not simply talented and focused people, but people with wonderful values. They want to develop themselves and develop the country. They respect one another and look after one another.”
At Facebook, she worked with James Pritts, the academic director for her master’s work at UCU.
In December, she began doctoral studies at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden.
